Deskripsi kursus

With our partners at the La Rochelle yachting school, inlingua offers you a ”live-in“ activity coached by a professional French skipper. Whatever your level in sailing, set off for an unforgettable adventure: the sea, swimming, cooking on board, parties, games, songs, fishing. You will learn the joys of sailing in a holiday atmosphere. Life at sea is a dream come true.

Organisation
The cruise starts on Monday at 9am and returns on Friday around 6 pm. The weekend before the cruise: For those in the junior camp - full board, excursion and activities included.
The weekend following the cruise: Full board accommodation until departure on the Saturday.

À bord
A 30-foot yacht, (9.5m) which brings together comfort and speed. 5 students and a skipper share the living quarters: 2 private cabins and the « mess » kitchen, living area, bathroom and toilet. Different types of navigation will be addressed: cruising, manoeuvres in a port, trimming the sails and plotting a course on a chart as well as racing strategies. The navigation zone may include, the bay of La Rochelle and its surrounding islands right up to Brittany or even down to the Gironde.

Lunch will be provided by the school during the week (Monday to Friday). On weekends the host family will take care of all the meals.

Our school is located in La Rochelle - France, beautiful city located on the Atlantic coast.

Our new premises are five minutes away from the sea, which gives you the opportunity to go and relax on the beach at any time. If you fancy doing some shopping or enjoy a drink on the old port, then it's a 10 minutes walk to the city center. Wherever you are in La Rochelle, yo will be able to enjoy the sea air.

"Nice experience and effective vacation"

I like it at all. It was first such experience for me and for sure I will continue it next vacation. Teachers and people form the schools were really very friendly. What was surprising to my parents that the area around the school is easily excessively to everybody but I enjoyed it much.

Teachers were amazing and helpful, comfortable accommodation, top location. Food quality could be improved and it was sad that kids were not allowed to leave accommodation on their own (so kids could not really enjoy location in the old city and close beach)

"It was a great learning experience"

First of all the host family was great. The lady I was staying at was very kind and I lived one minute by foot from the school. The classes were fine it was just very hot in the first week which of course isn’t the teacher’s fault. The teachers tried the lessons as interesting as possible. The activities were fun but most importantly I made a lot of new friends which was the best part of my stay.

Accommodation with a host family offers the chance to speak French in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere and the occasion to familiarize yourself with local customs and traditions.

The families agree not to take more than one student of the same native language at a time.
Our team knows these families well, selected not only for their hospitality, the comfort of their home but also for the warmth of atmosphere therein.

Our host families are located close to our centers: you can expect to travel between 10 and 30 minutes maximum on foot, public transport or by bicycle (very popular means of transport in La Rochelle or on the Ile de Ré) to rejoin your host family.

If you come by car please let us know at the time of enrolment. This offer of accommodation is open to those over 18.

However, minors with parental permission may also apply. If this option interests you, you must complete your enrolment at least 3 weeks before the date of arrival. The stay extends from Sunday (arrival late afternoon) to Saturday (departure in the morning). For stays in La Rochelle the family will meet you at the train station or the airport of La Rochelle. For stays on the Ile de Re it is recommended that you take the shuttle from the station or the airport.
