Deskripsi kursus

The three-week film elective gives students the unique opportunity to discover the fascinating world of film- making and to let their imaginations run free.
The course provides a practical introduction to all aspects of film craft through a combination of interactive seminars, technical training and hands-on experience behind the camera. Armed with this knowledge and expert tuition from professionals in the film industry students will then create their very own short films to be screened in front of the entire Summer School.

Throughout this course, students of all ability levels will benefit from expert tuition on script writing, directing, production management, cinematography and editing, right through to location scouting and set design.

Each student will receive instruction in the use of industry standard cameras and editing software. Working in small teams, students will then learn to work within a production crew taking turns to direct, produce and create their own unique films.

This elective has been designed to give students a practical introduction to film-making, while at the same time, helping them to appreciate the rewards of teamwork and the satisfaction of putting their own ideas into action. Students will not only create their own unique films, they will also gain the confidence to express and discuss their ideas, learn what it takes to put their ideas into action and discover the rewards of seeing their ideas come to life on the big screen.

Deskripsi sekolah

Program sekolah musim panas ISSOS secara eksklusif menawarkan siswa sekolah menengah atas yang berasal dari lebih dari 70 negara (usia 13-18 tahun) kesempatan untuk menggabungkan pembelajaran, pengayaan kreatif, dan petualangan penuh aksi di salah satu dari tiga kota universitas (St Andrews, Cambridge, dan Yale) yang menakjubkan, bersejarah, dan indah. Program berdurasi tiga minggu kami menyambut siswa dari seluruh dunia, menggabungkan penutur bahasa Inggris asli dan asing serta membatasi jumlah siswa dari satu kebangsaan hingga 10% untuk menjamin pengalaman yang benar-benar internasional. Program musim panas kami di Universitas Yale yang bergengsi terletak di New Haven, Connecticut. Kampus ini dibangun di atas lahan seluas 265 hektar dan menyediakan banyak fasilitas bagi siswa selama masa tinggal mereka. Lebih penting lagi, Yale menyediakan kampus yang aman di mana para siswa dapat menikmati sejumlah kebebasan dan mengalami semua yang ditawarkan. ISSOS International Summer Schools are amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming. The teachers are engaging and encouraging and their classes are interesting and dynamic. The accommodation is safe and comfortable. The location was wonderful and there is the opportunity to go on fun and interesting trips. I would recommend ISSOS to anyone who wants to practise and improve their English skills, study interesting academic and elective classes, meet friends from lots of different nationalities and have so much fun!

ISSOS at Yale is set within the grounds of Yale University. Students are housed in the historic Trumbull College which provides them with a very comfortable and safe ‘home away from home’ for the duration of the three-week program. Trumbull is one of Yale’s most beautiful and most intimate residential colleges. It is said that James Gamble Rogers, who designed nine of Yale’s twelve residential colleges, considered Trumbull his masterpiece.

All students will be housed in Trumbull College with its oak paneled common room facilities, libraries and lawns that students can take full advantage of during their stay.
